Scope

These terms apply to all users of StoryCraft. By registering, you accept these terms.

Contract Conclusion

The contract is concluded through your registration with StoryCraft and our confirmation email. For paid subscriptions, the contract is concluded by selecting a plan and completing the payment process via Stripe.

The contract text is stored by us. You cannot access it via our website after contract conclusion, but we will send you a confirmation email. These terms are available at /terms at any time.

User Account

You are responsible for your account security. Do not share your credentials with others. You must be at least 16 years old to use StoryCraft. If you are between 16 and 18 years old, you confirm by registering that your legal guardians consent to your use.

Service Description

StoryCraft provides writing software with an editor, chapter structuring, codex, and optional AI features. AI text features are powered by Claude (Anthropic), image generation by OpenAI. Feature availability depends on your chosen plan.

Availability

We strive for the highest possible availability of StoryCraft. However, a specific availability is not guaranteed. We will perform scheduled maintenance outside of peak usage times whenever possible.

Usage Rules

The following is prohibited when using StoryCraft:

Creating or storing illegal content (e.g., hate speech, child sexual abuse material, or copyright-infringing content)
Misuse of AI features, including attempts to bypass security measures or provoke harmful outputs
Using the service for spam, phishing, or other fraudulent activities
Technical attacks on the service or disruption of system integrity

In case of violations of these usage rules, we reserve the right to suspend access or terminate the contract without notice.

Prices and Payment Terms

Current prices are available on our website at /pricing. All prices include applicable VAT.

In case of payment default, we reserve the right to suspend access to paid features until outstanding amounts are settled. No reminder fees will be charged.

Payment and Subscription

Paid plans are billed monthly. You can cancel at any time at the end of the billing period. After cancellation, access remains until the end of the paid period.

Right of Withdrawal

As a consumer, you have the right to withdraw from this contract within 14 days without giving any reason.

The withdrawal period is 14 days from the date of contract conclusion.

To exercise your right of withdrawal, you must inform us of your decision to withdraw from this contract by a clear statement (e.g., email to info@story-craft.eu). You may use the attached model withdrawal form for this purpose.

If you withdraw from this contract, we will reimburse all payments we have received from you without undue delay and no later than 14 days from the day on which we received notice of your withdrawal.

Notice for digital content: The right of withdrawal expires prematurely if you have expressly consented to the performance of the contract beginning before the end of the withdrawal period and have confirmed your knowledge that by giving this consent you lose your right of withdrawal. This consent is obtained separately when completing a paid subscription.

Intellectual Property

Your texts and content belong to you. You only grant us the rights necessary to operate the service. The StoryCraft software and brand are our property.

Liability

We are fully liable for damages resulting from injury to life, body, or health, as well as for intent and gross negligence.

In cases of slight negligence in breaching essential contractual obligations (cardinal obligations), our liability is limited to the foreseeable, contract-typical damage.

Otherwise, liability for slight negligence is excluded.

We recommend creating regular backups of your work using the export feature.

AI suggestions are tools for inspiration and do not replace professional advice.

Termination

You can delete your account at any time. We may suspend accounts for violations of these terms. Upon termination, your data will be deleted after 30 days.

Changes to Terms

We may change these terms with effect for the future, provided this is reasonable taking into account your interests. We will notify you of significant changes at least 30 days before they take effect by email. You then have the option to agree to the changes or terminate the contract. If you do not object to the changes within 30 days of receiving the change notification and continue to use the service, the changed terms will be deemed accepted. We will specifically inform you of this legal consequence in the change notification.

Governing Law

German law applies. The place of jurisdiction is Karlsruhe, Germany, where legally permitted.

Online Dispute Resolution

The EU Commission provides a platform for online dispute resolution: https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr/ - We are neither obligated nor willing to participate in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.
